Jacob Kelly was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. At the age of nine he moved to Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, Canada until graduating high school. Upon graduation he returned to Ottawa to go to Algonquin College to study marketing. After completing two years and leaving with his diploma Jacob joined the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group (OSEG) as a Social Media Manager.

In his three years with OSEG, Jacob managed social media for the Ottawa 67’s in the OHL for two season and the Ottawa RedBlacks for one season. Jacob left the pro sports industry to run JAK Marketing, a boutique marketing agency servicing clients across North America and in parts of Europe. Today, Jacob is the Head of Social Media for the tech startup Surf.

Jacob began podcasting in his spare while working with the 67’s. He launched his first podcast, My Social Life at the age of 21 and ran it for four years straight, releasing a new episode every week from September 2018 until the conclusion of the show in August 2022. Over the course of 200 episodes Jacob grew the podcast to be a Top 3% podcast in the entire world and charted the show as a Top 100 Careers show in his home country of Canada.

Jacob also hosted the official podcast of the Ottawa Redblacks, ‘Redblacks: Unfiltered’ and launched the show as the number one football podcast in the country.

Following the conclusion of My Social Life, Jacob joined Creator Now, a membership experience for content creators to host brand new IP for their subscribers in 2023.

In his spare time, Jacob does even more interviews, currently in production on new show called ‘The Jacob Kelly Interview Series’ (coming in 2023), writes screenplays and essays, supports the football team Leeds United, and spends time with his partner Halle and his cat Oswald.
